Casper council takes up water main deal, annexation, liquor rules
The Casper City Council met Aug. 4 to consider a $1.2 million-plus water main improvement agreement, annexation of a 4.2-acre commercial lot, and changes to liquor permit rules. Official minutes have not been published, so the outcomes of these items are not yet known.
Water infrastructure
The council had on its agenda a resolution authorizing an agreement with Ramshorn Construction for Priority Water Main Improvements, valued at more than $1.2 million. The exact amount was listed as "$1.2M+".
Annexation and zoning
The council was scheduled to consider annexation and zoning approval for a 4.2-acre lot owned by Bryan Stanko at 2585 and 2595 Bryan-Evansville Road.
Liquor ordinance
An ordinance amending malt beverage and catering permit rules for public events was on the agenda.
Other business
The council also considered purchasing a $165,000 box walking floor trailer and a $70,000 SUV for the Solid Waste Division. It also had a resolution to cancel and re-establish an Aug. 18 public hearing for the Downtown Urban Renewal Project.
Work session and pre-meeting
On July 28, the council held a work session to discuss tiered water rates and proposed changes to the liquor ordinance. The session also included a discussion of a financial write-off balance. No minutes have been published for that session.
On Aug. 4, a pre-meeting was held to review the agenda. It was procedural only.
