Village approves storm debris burn agreement; board to weigh emergency ordinance
The South Chicago Heights Board of Trustees approved an agreement allowing temporary storage and controlled burning of storm-generated tree debris at 3000 State Street during a special meeting Aug. 19. The board also met Aug. 10 for a regular meeting and a committee discussion on a billboard lease.
Storm debris agreement approved
At the Aug. 19 special meeting, the board passed Resolution 2026-R31, authorizing a hold harmless and right of entry agreement with A3.5 3000 State LLC. The agreement covers temporary storage and controlled burn of storm-generated tree debris on the property at 3000 State Street. Minutes for this meeting have not yet been published.
Aug. 10 regular meeting agenda
The Aug. 10 regular meeting agenda included several items, though minutes have not yet been published. The board was scheduled to consider:
- Ordinance 2026-ORD-18, authorizing declaration and disposal of surplus personal property.
- Resolution 2026-R-29, approving collateralized deposit and pledge depository agreements with BMO Bank, N.A. and Old Plank Trail Community Bank, N.A.
- Resolution 2026-R-30, approving a Community Water Supply Asset Protection Plan agreement with American Infrastructure Network, Inc.

Earlier on Aug. 10, the Committee of the Whole discussed a lease agreement for a billboard on village-owned property at 1030 W 32nd Street. This was a discussion item only; no formal action was scheduled.
