Board of Trustees: $119,419.90 Wastewater Plant Contract on Agenda

The largest dollar item was a resolution to approve a $119,419.90 price quotation from Kaeser Compressors for rebuilding wastewater-plant blowers. Parks Board: Pickleball Resurfacing and Fall Events
The Park Board met July 11 to review a resurfacing bid for pickleball courts through the TIPS cooperative purchasing program. Members discussed status updates for the Wellness series, Dracula Spectacula (scheduled for October 24, 2026), and a Costume Swap (scheduled for October 3, 2026).

Planning & Zoning: Silver Creek Animal Hospital and Code Amendments
The Planning & Zoning Board and the Business District Development and Redevelopment Commission held multiple sessions on July 13 and 14.
On July 13, a public hearing was scheduled on a redevelopment agreement with Jenna Magnuson d/b/a Silver Creek Animal Hospital. The agreement would use business district funds for a flush-mounted sign.
On July 14 at 6:00 PM at the Swansea Government Center, the board held two public hearings on amendments to Chapter 154 of the municipal code. One hearing covered changes to permitted uses in the Planned Business and Highway Business zoning districts. The other addressed zoning review procedures, occupancy authorization, notice of violation procedures, stop-work orders, and the elimination of certificates of zoning compliance.

August 3 — Planning & Zoning Board: The board will consider a Request for Proposals to demolish and restore two sites: a mobile home at 208 Clara Street and a wood-frame residence at 217 Anna Street. Proposal security of 5% of the total amount is required, along with performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract amount. The contract must be completed within 30 calendar days, with liquidated damages of $250 per day. Sealed proposals are due by 2 p.m. on August 3, 2026, and will be opened publicly at the Village Government Center.
