Yountville Council Scheduled HUD Grant Vote and Liability Claim Review; Outcomes Pending
Over the past two weeks, Yountville's Town Council and advisory bodies met on topics ranging from federal housing grants to a liability claim and the Town Manager position. Minutes have not yet been published for any of the recent sessions, so outcomes are not available in the public record. Here is what was on the agendas.
Town Council — July 21
The council held a special closed session at 2:00 PM to consider a liability claim filed by James Lyon against the Town of Yountville under Government Code § 54956.95. Later that day, the regular meeting was scheduled to include adoption of Resolution 26-4435, which would authorize the Public Works Director to submit applications for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant programs and to sign master, supplemental, fund exchange, and fund transfer agreements. The regular meeting agenda also listed approval of minutes from the July 7 regular meeting and revised minutes of the April 21 and April 29 special closed sessions, an online budget demonstration, and a staff presentation on the state of housing in Yountville.
Measure S Committee — July 23
The Affordable and Workforce Housing Oversight Committee (Measure S) was scheduled to appoint a Chair and Vice Chair and to receive the preliminary Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Measure S (Fund 71) Expenditure Report and Balance Sheet. The committee also planned to approve minutes from a September 25, 2025 special meeting and receive a staff informational update on committee recruitment. The agenda was largely procedural, with no major funding allocations listed.
Community Foundation — July 24
The Yountville Community Foundation was set to review a fund reallocation request from the Farmstand Garden for Imagine Yountville Grant 2026 funds, review an Imagine Yountville Happiness Grant Proposal, and consider the Imagine Yountville Grant Process and Application for 2027. The board also had the June 2026 financial report and a director recruitment update on its agenda.
Town Council Closed Session — July 30
The council met in a special closed session to discuss public employee appointment and employment, specifically focused on the Town Manager position.
