Grantsville adopts cross-connection ordinance; property tax hearing set for August 5
The Grantsville City Council adopted Ordinance 2026-26, amending the city's cross-connection control rules to protect the public water system, according to a notice published July 16. The ordinance, adopted at the council's July 15 meeting, adds a definition for "Dual Source Connection," requires reduced pressure principle assemblies on such connections, and mandates removal of noncompliant connections.
City Council — July 15

Planning Commission — July 21
The Planning Commission's July 21 agenda included two conditional use permits for keeping animals on residential property: one for up to 7 horses and 4 dogs at 947 East Durfee Street, and another for up to 1 horse at 249 W Cowdery Drive. The commission was also scheduled to consider adopting the 2026 APWA Utah Manual of Standard Specifications, discuss amendments to Chapters 6, 7, and 9 of the Grantsville Land Use Ordinance, and discuss a proposed Advanced Technology and Data Infrastructure Center. City Council — August 5: Public hearing at 7:00 PM at Grantsville City Hall, 429 East Main Street, on a proposed property tax increase. If approved, the city would raise an additional $110,832 in annual property tax revenue, a 4.98% increase over last year's budgeted revenue excluding new growth. The tax on a $563,000 residence would increase from $438.77 to $460.76 per year; on a $563,000 business, from $797.77 to $837.74 per year. Residents may attend in person or virtually to comment.
