Logan Council adopts two rezoning ordinances; budget hearing and $222M budget vote ahead

Council Adopts Two Rezoning Ordinances
On July 21, 2026, the Municipal Council approved two rezoning requests, with the ordinances taking effect immediately upon publication. The council reviewed the adopted ordinances at its July 22 meeting.
- **ORD. 26-10** rezones a 0.31-acre property at 595 West 200 North from NR-6 to MR-12, allowing three residential units.
- **ORD. 26-11** rezones a 1.76-acre property at 185 East Cache Valley Boulevard from Commercial (COM) to Mixed Use (MU) for mixed-use development.

The July 21 agenda also included proposed Parks and Recreation fee changes under Resolution 26-24, covering fees for the Logan River Golf Course, the Pioneer Day Parade, inflatable devices, and A-Frame rentals. The council also discussed transportation funding for a signal at 200 West 1200 North and improvements at 1400 North 1200 East, plus budget adjustments of $50,000 for the 400 North 600 West intersection and $18,000 for the ICAC Task Force. Planning Commission Takes Up 51-Lot Subdivision
On July 23, 2026, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on PC 26-025, the Maple View Subdivision request. Steward Land Company and the Adams Family Trust proposed a Planned Development Overlay to build 51 residential lots on approximately 10 acres at 350 South 1400 West, in the Woodruff Neighborhood. The property is currently zoned Suburban Neighborhood Residential (NR-4). The proposal includes lot sizes ranging from 4,000 to 11,000 square feet, open space, and a stormwater detention facility. The commission also planned to approve minutes from its July 9 meeting. A bus tour of agenda sites was canceled.

The Logan City Library Board meeting scheduled for July 20, 2026, was canceled. No business was conducted.
