Cemetery lot reclamation notice
On August 19, the council gave notice that it will reclaim ownership of eight cemetery lots that have been unused for burial purposes for more than 60 years, pursuant to Utah Code § 8-5-6 and Resolution No. 2025-10-16B. Owners or heirs of the affected lots must file a formal Notice of Legal Interest with the city recorder within 60 days of the last publication date, which is September 2, 2026. If no valid claim is received, the lots will be legally recognized as abandoned and ownership will transfer to Moroni City.
The affected lots include those of Samuel Gee (Section B Block 2 Lot 60F), Clara Gee (Section B Block 2 Lot 58F), William Story (Section C Block 1 Lot 43F), and five others. Notices must be filed with Carol Haskins, Moroni City Recorder, at 80 South 200 West, PO BOX 870, Moroni UT 84646.
