Provo seeks bids for Slate Canyon storm drain project; Planning Commission to weigh townhome developments
Provo City is accepting sealed bids through August 18 for the 2026 Slate Canyon Storm Drain Improvements project, the most concrete action item in a two-week window where several meetings were cancelled or limited to closed sessions.
Slate Canyon Storm Drain Improvements
Provo City Public Works issued Bid No. PR2026001014 for construction of the 2026 Slate Canyon Storm Drain Improvements. The project scope includes installation of storm drain pipe, manholes, concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, and asphalt paving.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 11 at 1:00 p.m. at 1377 S 350 E. Bids are due August 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The selected contractor must complete the work by October 15, 2026.
Board of Adjustment meeting cancelled
The Provo City Board of Adjustment meeting scheduled for July 20, 2026, was cancelled. No items were discussed or decided. The agenda had included an appeal by Kyle Owen regarding 719 W 500 N, which was cancelled along with the meeting.
Municipal Council holds closed session
The Provo Municipal Council met July 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Provo Peaks Conference Room. The agenda included a roll call and a closed meeting to discuss pending litigation, real-estate transactions, or individual personnel matters under Utah Code. The meeting was broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook. Minutes have not yet been published.
