South Ogden Council adopts City Center Plan, development moratorium
The South Ogden City Council on Aug. 18 adopted a new City Center Master Plan and a 180-day moratorium on development applications in four zones, while also approving agreements for a fire engine purchase and other services.
City Center Master Plan
The council passed Ordinance 26-06, adopting the City Center Master Plan with maps and appendices. The ordinance sets an effective date and applies to all South Ogden residents. The full text is available at the City Recorder's Office, 3950 Adams Ave., or by calling 801-622-2709.
Development moratorium
Ordinance 26-07 establishes a 180-day moratorium on receiving or processing applications for development or planning permits that require approval from the Staff Review Committee. The moratorium applies to the City Center Core, City Center General, Riverdale Road General, and 40th Street General zones.
Other council actions
The council also approved:
- Resolution 26-23: an agreement with Ogden Transfer Station LLC for mixed solid waste disposal.
- Resolution 26-25: an agreement with Siddons-Martin for the purchase of a fire engine.
- Resolution 26-26: an agreement with RoadSafe Traffic Systems for a road striping project.
The council held a work session with reports on a fraud assessment and South Ogden Days, and closed with an executive session on real property.
Planning Commission hearings
On Aug. 13, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the City Center Master Plan draft. The commission also nominated and elected a new chair and vice chair, and approved minutes from meetings on March 12, May 26, June 11, and July 9. The draft plan was available on the city website, and written comments were accepted until 5 p.m. on the hearing date.
