Sterling boards take up ADU rules, election agreement; no decisions yet
Sterling's Planning and Zoning Commission and Town Council met in the past two weeks to consider accessory dwelling unit rules, a 2027 election agreement, and other administrative items. No decisions have been reported because minutes from these meetings have not yet been published.
Planning and Zoning Commission (August 11)
The commission held a public hearing at 7:00 PM in the Sterling Town Community Center. The agenda included discussion of proposed changes to the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) ordinance, the Internal Accessory Dwelling Unit (IADU) ordinance, and an accessory building setback amendment. The meeting was procedural, with no decisions scheduled.
A separate agenda item for the same date lists votes on the ADU ordinance, the IADU ordinance, and the accessory building setback amendment, as well as a discussion to identify five land use concerns. Because minutes are not yet available, the outcomes of these votes are not known.
Town Council (August 18)
