West Bountiful boards weigh WinCo permit, sales tax support, golf clubhouse study
Over the past two weeks, West Bountiful's Planning Commission and City Council met to review several items, including a conditional use permit for WinCo Foods, a letter of support for a Davis County sales tax, and a feasibility study for the golf course clubhouse. No minutes have been published from these meetings, so no decisions are yet reported.
Planning Commission — Aug. 11
The Planning Commission met on Aug. 11 to consider a conditional use permit for WinCo Foods LLC at 190 South 500 West. The commission also reviewed a revision to the Pope Subdivision flag lot conditional use permit at 1192 W 400 N, discussed A-1 height regulations, and approved minutes from the July 28 meeting. Staff reports were also received.
Planning Commission and City Council, Aug. 18
Both the Planning Commission and the City Council held special work sessions on detached accessory dwelling units (ADUs) before their regular meetings on Aug. 18. On the regular agendas, both bodies considered a letter of support for Davis County's "5th 5th" local option sales tax and a purchase approval for a feasibility study for the golf course clubhouse. They also approved minutes from the Aug. 4 meeting and received staff reports from police, public works, engineering, and administration and community development.

Planning Commission public hearing — Aug. 25, 7:30 p.m.
The commission will hold a public hearing to receive comments on a proposed code amendment regarding height regulations in the A-1 Zone and height exceptions for all residential zones. The meeting will be held at the city offices at 550 N 800 West, West Bountiful, UT 84087. Written comments may be submitted before the meeting. The commission will also hold a public hearing and consider a recommendation on a code change to A-1 height regulations. The agenda includes discussion on detached accessory dwelling units and appeal authority, and approval of minutes from the Aug. 11 meeting.
