Election canvass

The Daggett County Elections body met July 20 at 9:00 AM in Manila to canvass the 2026 Primary Republican Election results, including consideration of corrected reports. No minutes are available yet to confirm the canvass outcome.

Vehicle and equipment purchases

The Daggett County Commission and Redevelopment Agency had multiple purchase requests on July 21 and July 28 agendas. Items included:

• Leasing of two new 2026 Toyota RAV4 Hybrids

Water treatment plant and clinic projects

The Daggett County Municipal Building Authority met July 21 and July 28 to discuss the Water Treatment Plant Project and the New Clinic Building Project. A separate Daggett County Planning & Zoning Board meeting scheduled for July 21 at 6:00 PM was cancelled due to a scheduling conflict; no business was conducted.

Daggett County Boards Consider Healthcare Provider Change, Drought Emergency, and Budget Items

Daggett County officials met over the past two weeks to consider a transition in healthcare providers, a drought emergency declaration, and several infrastructure and equipment purchases. Minutes for these meetings have not yet been published, so final outcomes of the considered items are not yet available.

Healthcare Provider Transition

On July 17, the Daggett County Commission was scheduled to accept a proposal from Ashley Regional Medical Center (ARMC) as the next area medical provider for the New Community Health and Social Services Building. Uintah Basin Healthcare (UBH) gave official notice to conclude clinic, laboratory, pharmacy, and radiological services by October 2, 2026. The Manila Health Clinic was planned to move into the new building by September. The commission was also scheduled to accept a proposal from an unnamed dentist.

Drought Emergency and Election Canvass

The July 14 County Commission agenda included Resolution 26-13, which would declare a drought emergency in Daggett County. The commission also considered a survey planning and design services agreement for Sheep Creek Marina improvements, a Blueprint Training Services Agreement, and USU Extension's Rural Online Initiative. On July 20, the County Elections body met to canvass the 2026 Primary Republican Election results and consider corrected reports.

Economic Development and Re-Granting Program

The Economic Development Advisory Board met July 17 to discuss the administration of $100,000.00 in re-granting funds. The board established requirements for matching funds and reimbursement processes, with a grant application window set for October 1 to October 31, 2025. The board also reviewed a $63,000.00 Economic Development Budget, $35,000.00 for Community Center Audio Visual, and $2,000.00 for Workforce Development.
