Schiller Park Roundup: Village Board Slated to Consider $129,413 Street-Sign Contract
The Schiller Park Village Board was scheduled to consider a $129,413 street-sign installation contract and a $40,902 public safety vehicle purchase at its July 16 meeting. Official outcomes for this and other recent local meetings are not yet available because minutes have not been published.
Village Board
At its July 16 meeting, the Village Board was slated to vote on several financial items. The largest was a $129,413 purchase of 131 street-sign posts from High Star Traffic. The board also planned to consider a $16,800 Professional Services Agreement with Christopher B. Burke Engineering for a traffic signal study at Lawrence Ave and Ruby St, and a $40,902.91 purchase of one Jeep Grand Cherokee with equipment for public safety.
In addition to these purchases, the agenda included an ordinance amending architect stamp requirements and a minor subdivision of 3901–3919 Wesley Terrace (ZPA 26-S-103). The meeting also featured routine reports, a new zoning administrator appointment, and executive-session matters.
Zoning Board of Appeals
The Zoning, Planning & Appeals Commission met on July 8 to review two applications to combine multiple land parcels into single parcels. The requests include:
- Case No. 26-S-02: Combining parcels at 9327 & 9323 Seymour Avenue and 3946 Willow Street (Applicant: Design Haus).
- Case No. 26-S-03: Combining parcels at 3901, 3907, 3919 Wesley Terrace (Applicant: Village of Schiller Park).
Fire & Police Commissioners
The Board of Fire & Police Commissioners held a special meeting on July 7 in executive session. The commission was scheduled to consider and act upon oral interviews for Police Sergeants Promotional Oral exams.
Municipal Consolidated Dispatch Board
On July 14, the Dispatch Board was scheduled to review the Executive Director's report and performance. The board planned to discuss a contract renewal for the Norwood Park Fire Protection District and receive an update on Flock Safety Drone First Responders. The agenda also included a Warrant Register bill listing.
Other Commissions
The Schiller Park Historical Commission met on July 13 at Washington School to approve minutes, review financial reports, and discuss new business. The agenda also included a chairperson report and committee reports. On the same day, the Village Community Events Committee met to discuss Village events. The committee's agenda included a public comment period and the approval of minutes from February 23, 2026.
Coming up
The Recreation Board will meet on July 21 to review old and new business. Old business includes a recap of the 4th of July Community Picnic & Pool Party and an update on the Kennedy Park scoreboard. New business includes updates on the summer camp, pool, programming, and marketing efforts. The board will also review the 2026 Facility Improvement Plans, which consist of a 5-Year Park Plan for North Village and Kennedy Park, and a review of revenue and expenditures.
