Information: A. School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST)
Senate Bill 218 of the 77th Legislature (2002) authorized the implementation of a financial accountability rating system, which is officially referred to as School FIRST. The primary goal of School FIRST is to improve the management of the school district's financial resources. The School FIRST rating is based upon an analysis of staff and student data reported for the 2023-24 school year, and budgetary and financial data for the 2024 fiscal year.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has released each school district's official financial rating. The Northside Independent School District has received the highest rating of "Superior Achievement." The Northside ISD Board of Trustees will consider approving a resolution to sell a 0.6442-acre tract at IH 410 & Valley Hi Dr (part of Sam Rayburn Middle School campus) to TxDOT for highway expansion. â Crisis Counseling. Several NISD Professional School Counselors stepped in and volunteered their time to assist in the Kerrville ISD and Alamo Heights ISD communities following the recent July 4th floods. Both communities were impacted by the flooding. NISD student athletes in track and field participated in the 5A and 6A UIL State Track and Field Championships at the University of Texas in Austin, bringing home lots of medals and accolades. Tate Taylor from Harlan High School broke both state and national records!
