The City Council provided direction at the 2025 Mid-Year Advance to focus on SSD projects
closest to the City Centre. Specifically, the MUP between Sylvan Circle and Apple Valley Road
and the undergrounding of utilities on Dresden Drive between Ellijay Drive and Caldwell Road.
Several other SSD projects are poised to complete design and begin implementation. The City
Council approved an increase in the SSD mill rate from 4.0 to 5.0 on June 23. This will provide
approximately an additional $2M annually, depending on digest performance. This amount is
sufficient to advance several projects into implementation, but not all.
