Building Code Board of Appeals

The Building Code Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Appeal 25-0597 (Pasavento). The appeal, filed by Matthew DeMars, seeks to overturn the denial of a request to install a fixed exterior fire sprinkler system on a single‑family dwelling at Ocean Avenue, 2 Southwest of Camino Real (Lots 1 and 3, Block M, APN 010‑266‑014‑000). Other Community Meeting

The Community Planning and Building Department will hold a hybrid meeting to introduce the city's Objective Design & Development Standards (ODDS) for accessory dwelling units, multifamily housing, and mixed‑use residential projects. Attendees will be asked to provide public input on exemplary projects to help shape the standards. The meeting includes in‑person and Zoom participation, with public comment accepted in both formats and via email.

City Council

The Carmel-by-the-Sea City Council will consider several ordinance adoptions, a memorandum of understanding with the Police Officers Association, and a policy on roofing materials. Council members will receive an update on the Design Traditions 1.5 Project and provide direction to staff. Public comment will be accepted in person and via Zoom.
