The Detroit Lakes City Council will hold three public hearings: one on proposed assessments for the Lynnview Estates Street and Utility Improvement Project, one on vacating a portion of a public road at 997 and 1001 Lakewood Drive, and one on modifying a development program and establishing a new Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district. The City Council will hold a second reading and vote on Ordinance 549 to rezone 1686 Randolph Road from agriculture to auto-oriented business, and consider a conditional use permit for sales from motorized vehicles at that address. The City Council will hold public hearings on an intoxicating liquor and Sunday license for Detroit Lake Front Lodge LLC at 1200 East Shore Dr., and on the Rossman Ave street and utility improvements. The council will also consider several items including a revised cooperative agreement with Becker County for West Lake Drive Phase 3 and beach improvements, a sponsorship agreement with Essentia Health for the Washington Ballpark, and a new union contract with MPEA for 2026-2028. The mayor is scheduled to present the "State of the City" address and the council will consider a resolution supporting a new state-sponsored passenger rail service between Saint Paul, MN and Fargo, ND.
