Public Service Authority
The board approved September bills and customer deposit refunds. The Executive Director was authorized to sign a permit renewal with the US Forest Service for the Long Hollow Tank site. The board also reviewed financial reports and received a presentation on PFAS.

Community Emergency Response Team
The board approved the August 8, 2023 meeting minutes. It declined two requests for CERT participation at community events and placed the Balloons over Rockbridge event on next year’s calendar. New training sessions were scheduled, including an Emergency Vehicle Operations Course for October 17, 19, and 21 and a three‑week CERT Basic Training starting October 31. The group also set a goal to update and distribute volunteer manuals before the end of the year.

The Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) approved the minutes from the previous meeting. The remainder of the session consisted of agency updates regarding hospital capacity, emergency communications, and weather monitoring.
