Historic Preservation Commission
The commission unanimously approved the August 8, 2023 meeting minutes. It also approved Certificates of Appropriateness for reconstructing the front stoop at 613 West 6th Street and for tuckpointing and repairing masonry at 301 East 2nd Street, each by a 5‑0 roll‑call vote. The library ADA‑ramp and signage project was deferred for further design review, and the draft bylaws will be voted on at the October meeting.

City Council
The City Council held a special session to vote on the removal of the Seventh Ward Alderman. The council approved the removal of Derek Cornette from office, effective immediately.

Plan and Zoning Commission
The Plan and Zoning Commission approved several recommendations to be forwarded to the City Council, including a 16-acre rezoning for commercial development and a right-of-way vacation. The commission also approved a final plat for a two-lot subdivision. One rezoning request for garage storage was held for future recommendation.
