City Council

The City Council will discuss an ordinance to allow wholesale establishments in the C-3 zoning district. The body is also deciding on multiple infrastructure contracts, police equipment purchases, and liquor license applications.

The Davenport City Council approved several infrastructure contracts and resolutions, notably the Brady Street and 12th Street traffic signal installation and a public utility easement. It also adopted contracts for road resurfacing, sewer services, and a bridge replacement, and passed motions on noise variances and new beer and liquor licenses. A proposed wholesale‑use zoning amendment and a utilities locating contract were postponed.

Civil Service Commission

The Davenport Civil Service Commission will vote to appoint a new Civil Service Clerk and to designate a Chair and Vice Chair for the commission. The meeting also includes routine items such as approval of the agenda, minutes, and certification of an Accountant I position. Public comments are allowed but no action on complaints can be taken.

Civil Rights Commission

The Davenport Civil Rights Commission will review case E-0077-0042-17 and vote on new officer selections. The meeting also includes routine approvals of the agenda, minutes, and director reports, as well as two closed‑session items under Iowa Code 21.5(1)(f). Public comment is scheduled before adjournment.

Historic Preservation Commission

The Historic Preservation Commission will consider the November 10, 2025 meeting minutes, review a proposed amendment to the National Register of Historic Places listing for the Iowa Soldiers’ Orphans’ Home at 2800 Eastern Avenue, and receive the 2025 Certified Local Government Annual Report. The commission will also hold nominations for chairperson and vice‑chairperson.

Zoning Board of Adjustment

Committee of the Whole

The Davenport City Council will meet to consider zoning changes for wholesale businesses, traffic signal installations, and a public utility easement. The body will also discuss and vote on numerous liquor license applications and approve several public works contracts.

Plan and Zoning Commission

The January 6, 2026, meeting of the Plan and Zoning Commission was canceled due to a lack of business.

Management Update and Mayor/Council Discussion

The council will receive a management update and discuss the FY 2025 audit. It will also set dates for three FY 2027 budget workshops covering the operating and capital improvement budgets, and note a future joint work session with the Library Board of Trustees.
