Design Review Board

City Council

The Folly Beach City Council will hold a second reading vote on rezoning the High Ground of Long Island and associated marsh islands from Residential Single Family to Marsh Island Residential. The council will also consider first readings on accommodations tax fund distribution and parking requirements for tourist accommodations in the Center Street Overlay District, plus resolutions on a paid parking contract, a $300 variance application fee, and funding for the city's 50th anniversary celebrations.

City Council

The Folly Beach City Council is meeting to consider several resolutions and an ordinance. The most consequential item is the second reading of an ordinance to extend a moratorium on new short-term rental business licenses while a citizen petition to cap rentals is verified. The council will also vote on a 90-day contract extension with Lanier Parking, award contracts for council chamber audio-visual upgrades and firehouse repairs, and authorize purchase of replacement beach patrol carts.
