Good morning, everyone. It is nine o'clock. We are here in council chambers for the hearing examiner hearings. I'm calling the hearings order at this time. Before we start, I have a few preliminary comments. I'd like to introduce the process that's followed in the city of Cape Coral, which is a little bit different than the process followed in other jurisdictions. In our process, the process is as follows. The clerk will read the introduction to the case. The clerk will swear in anyone who is testifying. City staff testifies regarding compliance with public notice. The applicant will go first and present an entire case. City staff goes second and presents their case. Public comment is next. If you're here for public comment, please do make your comments comprehensive, because once public comment is closed, it will not be reop ened. Following the closure of public comment, the applicant will respond to questions and make any final comments. Staff will do the same, and that will conclude the hearing. If you have a cell phone with you today, please turn it off or silence it, if possible, and take any cell phone conversations outside the room. If you wish to have a private conversation, please move away from the speaker's lectern so we do not accidentally record your conversation. They become public record when recorded. If you have testimony to provide today, please come to the microphone so we can properly record your testimony. All testimony must be under oath. Members of the …

Thank you. category today. Next item 8 planning and zoning commission public hearings. The first item is 8 a ordinance 4526. I'll now turn the floor over to staff. Good morning, commission ers for the record. Chad boyco principal planner at the city 's Plain division. This is ordinance 45-26. It is an amendment to our land development code in it concerns attached and detached garages. We've been looking at a couple of changes for how we do dimensional regulations for detached and attached gar ages. Currently we have an internal consistency that involved the rear yard setback for detached garages. We're aiming to fix that. We're aiming to give a couple extra feet for detached garages and then we're also making a clarification to the breezeway language that we have for attached garages as well. And within that we also have the additional height allowance for those within the text section. Section 521A is the table that has the setback requirements for the accessory structures and 524 is the text language regarding attached and detached garages. So the first section that we're looking at is table 521A. This has some of our dimensional regulations. There was a text and a table sort of discrepancy between the rear yard set back with detached garages. Within the setback table we had rear yard setbacks at 10 feet for detached garages. further on in the section within the language that we describe the setbacks we had a rear yard setback of 20 feet . So what we're looking at is amendi …

Welcome to the regular meeting of the Cape Coral City Council. Today is July 15, 2026. This meeting now comes to order. Please stand for the invocation and pledge allegiance by Council Member Kilring. Thank you. Before giving me tonight's prayer, I'd like to ask for a moment of silence and special thought and prayer with the recent passing of a true patriot, Senator Lindsey Graham. If you'd join me in a moment of silence, please. Thank you. Sovereign Lord, you are the ultimate ruler over all on earth. On this first meeting of followers celebrating our nation's 250 years of independence, we seek to lift up our government leaders from the President and Congress to our local mayor and city council members in Cape Coral. Grant them a spirit of wisdom and discernment. Give them the insight to navigate complex challenges, make decisions that honor you, and foster a society of peace, truth, and liberty. We know and understand our great nation continues to be the best this world has ever known, and please allow us the strength to continue on our never- ending pursuit of a more perfect union. May we be examples of good governments and pass on to future generations the burning desire and mentored skills to keep our nation safe and free. God bless our first responders. God bless our military, both home and abroad, including all those now in harm's way, supporting our freedom in conflict with Iran. God bless America. God bless our nation. Amen. Today is June 23rd, 2026.
It is a Tuesday.
We're here in council chambers
for the hearing examiner hearings.
Before we start today,
I have a few preliminary comments
that I wanna share with the crowd.
Our process is a little bit different
than the process followed in other jurisdictions.
In our process,
the clerk will read the introduction to the case.
The clerk will swear in anyone who is testifying.
City staff testifies regarding compliance with public notice.
Because city staff is the applicant,
or represents the applicant, I should say today.
Normally I would say the applicant goes first
in presenting their entire case.
City staff goes second in presents their entire case.
That's truncated today in view of the fact
that city staff is here on behalf of the applicant.
Next is public comment.
If you're here for public comment,
please be sure to be sworn in at that,
be prior to your testimony.
And also all testimony must be
from the podium in front of me,
or, oh, we don't have the microphone today.
So it'd be from the podium in front of me.
If you're here for public comment,
please make your comments comprehensive
so that you get your entire thoughts shared with us.
Once public comment is closed,
it will not be reopened.
Following the closure of public comment,
the applicant, once again, applicant/staff,
will respond to questions, make any final comments,
and the hearing is concluded at that time.
If you have a cell phone with you today, …

Welcome to the regular meeting of the Cape Coral City Council. Today is June 3rd, 2026. This meeting now comes to order. Please stand for the invocation and pledge of allegiance by Councilmember Caduce. Please bow your heads with me. Heavenly Father, we thank you for the opportunity to serve our community and for the trust you placed in us by the people we represent. As our state considers property tax reform and places this important decision before the voters, we pray for wisdom, discernment, and informed judgment for all who participate in that process. As we gather tonight, guide our decisions and our discussions. Help us to seek what is right, just, and beneficial for the residents of our city. Grant us humility to listen, courage to lead, and wisdom to work through our differences with integrity. We also pray to lift up our first responders, our law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and all who stand ready to protect and serve. Keep them safe, strengthen their families, and bless them for their sacrifice and dedication. May tonight's work honor the people we serve and bring good to our city. Amen.
