The Red Bank Historic Preservation Commission held a regular meeting on Wednesday, June 17,
2026, at 7:00 PM, in the municipal building, first floor, 90 Monmouth Street, Red Bank, New

The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM. A roll call showed that Louis Almerini, Marjorie
Cavalier, Liam Collins, Karen Schmelzkopf, and Bethsy Varela attended. Shawna Ebanks, Board
Secretary, was also present.
The Open Public Meeting Statement Act was read. Adequate notice was posted in the newspaper,
the Borough Clerk's office, the Borough website, and outside the Red Bank Council Chambers.
Minor Works Committee
The Minor Works Committee reviews five applications. Four were for signage: 88 Broad Street, 7
Broad Street, 30 West Front, and 39 Broad Street. The other application was for 23 Wallace
Street, regarding the replacement of balcony railings.
Historic Sites Designation/Design Guidelines Committee
Marjorie Cavalier mentioned that she will be at the Historic Preservation Conference and will be
on a panel.
RiverCenter Liaison
There was no report.
Certified Local Government Designation Committee
The Committee provided the Commission with a checklist of all the items needed to be
completed for the designation. The Commission needs to provide its resumes and complete five
hours of training by next March. The Commission plans to submit the application in March 2027.

RED BANK PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE
Minutes May 26, 2026 - Borough Hall Courtroom
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., but a quorum was not present until 7:45 pm.
Attending: John LeFever, Oscar Salinas, Dana Ian Farley, Pat Richter, Joe Simon, Michael
Lennon, and Councilman Forest.
The minutes from the March and April meetings were approved unanimously after a motion to
accept by John seconded by Joe.
Item 1: Current Parks & Recreation Activities and Updates
The Chair Yoga series at the Senior Center (after hours) was highly successful, with over
twenty-five participants registered. Not everyone came to every class. The group would like five
class sessions to continue.
Tai Chi will start a four-session series next week and has about ten participants. It will be
Mondays at 5:30 pm on June 1, 8, 15, and 22 at the Senior Center.
Spring Sports Update
Spring baseball/softball will be ending this week (May 30) with our 7U team continuing through
June 15". None of our teams made it to the playoffs.
Track will continue until June 15".
There will be a free Rugby Clinic from 8:30 to 10:30 am this weekend at Count Basie Field.
Flag football was delayed for a couple of weeks to accommodate attendance at services for Terry
Haupt, tragically hit by a train. He was well known to the Recreation Department and the Red
Bank YMCA.
Updates on Projects
Marine Park continues its makeover with delays due to equipment delivery. The new date for
the grand opening is June 27 fro …

May 21, 2026
The Red Bank Zoning Board held a public meeting on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 6:30 PM in the
Municipal Building, first floor, Council Chambers, 90 Monmouth Street, Red Bank, New Jersey.
Chair Raymond Mass called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. A roll call showed the following
members were in attendance:
