✓ Decided: Council approves $25K Blue Jay Boosters and $50K Golf Club grants

The Stanley City Council approved two EDC grants: $25,000 to the Stanley Blue Jay Boosters for the Will Athletic Complex renovation and $50,000 to the Prairie Rose Golf Club for clubhouse rebuilding. The Council also approved a rezone of property from Agricultural to C3 – Corridor – Highway Commercial for Sam Fritel, and approved the first reading of a Flagpole Ordinance with height restrictions. Several construction payments were approved, including $277,515.93 to Martin Construction for the Reservoir Road project and a revised final payment of $46,568.69 to Fritel Construction for wastewater system improvements.

✓ Decided: Council approves $411,924 Reservoir Road payment, sales tax extension

The Stanley City Council approved a second reading and final passage of an ordinance extending the city's 1.5% sales and use tax for six years, through December 31, 2026, as approved by voters on June 9, 2020. The council also approved a $411,924.02 payment to Martin Construction for the Reservoir Road Reconstruction & Shared Use Path Project, and a $7,519.77 change order for that project. Additionally, the council approved a $200,000 allocation to the Stanley Park District from the city's 20% sales tax share for recreational improvements, and approved hiring Shelby Nelsen as a police officer at a starting salary of $46,500.

✓ Decided: Council reorganizes, appoints officers, buys printer, approves move

The council reorganized, swore in three members, and appointed David Minton as President and Linda Wienbar as Vice President. It approved Brosz Engineering as City Engineer and Furuseth Law Firm as City Attorney, and assigned Jake Hellman to the Housing Authority Committee. The council approved a $1,495 printer purchase and a $500 moving fee, closing City Hall on July 9-10 for relocation. Drainage issues at Holiday Gas Station were discussed but no decision was made.
