Front lawn:
From our meeting with Adam, I took his input to heart and wanted to create something
that was colorful, relatable for the community, and also substantial enough to stand
in front of the large building. | have attached a Picture of the design and also one with
a roughly scaled image of the building behind. The overall dimensions would be
approximately 24” long and 6-8’ tall with the goose wings extending higher. My
thought for the community involvement on this would be to paint certain elements
like the trees with somewhat specific colors/color groups, but to also paint some
colorful details that would be added to the animals. For example: colorful segments
of the turtle shell, markings on the trout, and feathers on the goose. This would be the
place where “anything goes” as far as color - all colors, rainbow, patterns, etc.
| would be constructing this out of 3/4” Advantech subfloor material. Itis a strong,
resin-treated, engineered product that provides water resistance. While not
completely weatherproof like stone or metal, it does resist warping and splitting
edges. Since there would be a lot of exposed edges, this would be my selection over
pressure treated plywood. | would use Benjamin Moore Element Guard paint which
seems to be the best rated product they have for extended exposure to weather. |
would also put a solid base coat on all pieces prior to community painting. The pieces
would be installed with a gap to the ground surface and shoveling (if possib …
