Ready. All right, good morning everyone. We call the July 1st, 2026 Special Magistrates hearing to order. The first item is case number CEBD 2400524 Mildred H. Neary . And your honor, based on this one, we are actually going to dismiss this one or request a dismissal on this one because we got permits. Okay. That's correct, right? For the record, Jim Davis, Supervisor of Community Resource Officers. They did receive the permits, they've been issued, and the work has began. Good. All right, thank you. All right, based on the sworn testimony and evidence presented, I find that respondent is compliant with the administrative order entered on October 8, 2025. Respondent has put on notice that future violations of Chapter 88, Building Regulations Section 3.2, responsibilities for residential properties, including structures, vacant buildings, and vacant or unimproved lots of the City Code of Ordin ances will cause the respondent to be deemed a repeat viol ator and subject to a fine of up to $500 per day for each new violation beginning on the day the violation occurred. All right, then we'll turn to new business. Case number CEZN25-00088, Justin Junda. Is the City ready to proceed? Yes, Your Honor. And we also, Mr. Boone, Jackson Boone is here as well for the respondent in this case. Through discussions with, between the City and Mr. Boone on behalf of Mr. Junda, the parties have come to an agreement on this matter. We're going to agree to continue this case to our September docke …

Thank you. I mean, we can wait. Paul can, he doesn't need to go up, so it's okay. All right. Good morning and welcome everybody for this joy ous occasion. A council meeting, not anything else. Let's call this meeting to order. Madam Clerk, if you'll do a roll call, please. Mr. Engelke is absent. Mrs. Frank. Here. Mr. Howard. Here. Mr. Smith. Here. Mr. Weed. Here. Vice Mayor Bolt. Here. Mayor Pachoda. Here. Are you protecting us while we're recognizing you? Not you, no. Okay. Louis, if you can protect the room while he does the Pledge of Allegiance, that would mean a lot to me. All right, we're going to stand for the invocation, and then Paul will lead the pledge. Our Father, we pray for this session of the Venice City Council. Bless those who are meeting here today with wisdom to guide their discussions and decisions for the common good of our residents, friends, and neighbors. In your name we pray. Amen. Amen. I want allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation , ungodly, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Okay. Well, let's go ahead and do this. I'm a little hesitant because anything involving Paul is going to take six hours, so it's just... I did lie to him before we started the meeting. I told him we installed new microphones in chambers that retract into the floor so that he wouldn't have the opportunity to speak longer than 15 minutes. But Master Patrolman Joyce, if you'd come up to the front of th …

Good afternoon, this is the Advisory Board meeting in June. If I may use the prerogative of the seat to start the meeting off with just a few announcements. I had the opportunity to go Monday, and you were there, you were there, to this Northeast Park. And I was involved in it previously when I was chair of the Park Advisory Commission. Get there, my advice. It's absolutely wonderful. And we compliment the design company. We compliment the city, Mr. Clinch, and your team. It's a very, very, very well done, well designed park. And I went there Monday, and then yesterday I took Mrs. Ef ren over there, and it was packed with children and their moms and dad. And that is great. The pickleball courts are filled. I don't know how they argue who gets next and all of that. And I know that we may want to have an orthopedic surgeon sponsor them because I've heard of friends who have done those things, fallen. And I wanted to say this park is great. Secondly, Hurricane Guy. And if anyone in the audience doesn't have one, I will give you one. If the committee wants one, take them. These are excellent. I applaud you, Lorraine, for putting this together. People I've given to. It's fresh. The pictures are great. It's a reality of what we have been going through. It's an easy read. This looks professional. People love it. Fortunately, they have printed this, and it reinforces your hard work. Because one of the things that I've talked up here and you 've thought is don't put them just up in po …

Can you identify yourself for the record? James Davis, Supervisor of Community Resource Officers. This has been continued multiple times. The last hearing, myself and CRO Brown both brought Mr. Ne ary to permitting, tried to work out the details with permitting. Since that time, as of this morning, our last conversation with Mr. Neary was that he is entering into a contract with an actual contractor. Permitting would not allow him to get the permit because he did not qualify as an owner builder. At this time, the house remains in the same condition. It hasn't worsened, but it still remains an unsafe property . And this concludes my testimony. Okay. Mr. Neary, do you have any questions of Officer Davis? Yes.
