that garner 2.3 million in tax refunds for over 1918 tax returns. This was a huge, huge win for us this year, and especially for our most vulnerable families and our working families that would not otherwise have free access to tax prep services, as well as their vital earned income tax credits, EitC, amongst others. Our United to End Homelessness initiative, which again, is another countywide program where we're serving working families throughout the county. Our housing retention rate is at 97.5%, and we've now served through our landlord engagement as well as our home Safe program. Over 1500 people throughout their our county. And what we've seen in terms of our amazing team is that the causes of homelessness mostly revolve around a job loss or reduced hours, some kind of a medical emergency or illness or sickness within the family. And then lastly, a change in household is really what we're seeing at the county level. And we appreciate our partnership with the county and, of course, the continuum of care and the CEO's office. Lastly, Women United are initiative aimed at single mothers and empowering them through education and mentorship. And I'm proud to share that this past year, we have now served over 100 women matriculating out of our three community colleges of Oxnard, Moorpark and Ventura. We were also told that a virtual continuous improvement meeting would be scheduled soon to discuss themes identified through recent focus group sessions with the process improvement team, known as the PIT.
