Antigo Committees Consider Budget Transfers, Opportunity Zone Application, and Liquor License
Common Council weighs ALPR policy, Opportunity Zone, and liquor license
The Antigo Common Council met July 8 to consider several resolutions and a liquor license request. The agenda included Resolution 49-26, which would establish a new Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) policy for the Police Department, and Resolution 50-26, a budget transfer from the Severance Reserve Account to the Police Department for a retirement payout.
The council was also scheduled to review Resolution 51-26, an Opportunity Zone application, and a liquor license for HomeField, LLC at 527 Field Street. Scott Sternhagen was set to present the 2025 Audited Financial Statement.

Finance Committee addresses ambulance repairs and industrial waste rules
The Finance, Personnel & Legislative Committee met July 15 with a packed agenda. Items included a budget transfer to fund ambulance engine repair and a correction to the carry-forward for the 2025–2026 Shelter Capital Equipment/Improvement Funds.
The committee was also scheduled to consider revising Section 42-167, which governs industrial wastes directed to public sewers, specifically regarding grease traps. A request from the fire chief to roll over unused vacation time was on the agenda.
The committee planned a closed session to review employment and performance data for the Project Manager/Surveyor position, followed by open-session action on any matters arising from that discussion. Minutes have not yet been published.
Plan Commission reviews Opportunity Zone application
The City Plan Commission convened July 7 to approve minutes from its June 2, 2026 meeting and discuss an Opportunity Zone application. The meeting was held at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers. Minutes are not yet available.
Economic Development Committee hears from WEDC and LCEDC
On July 6, the Economic Development Committee was scheduled to hear a presentation from Angie Close of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and Melissa Kieper of the Langlade County Economic Development Corporation. The committee also planned to approve minutes from its June 2, 2025 meeting. Minutes from this session have not been published.

The Public Works Committee meets July 22. The agenda includes an update on the city's sewage treatment plant, requested by Alderperson Edwards, and a revision to Section 42-167 governing industrial wastes directed to public sewers.
