Ascension Parish Transportation Committee accepts roads, approves speed cushions; Council to weigh $2.87M Parker Road bid

The committee also approved installing speed cushions on Butch Gore Park Road and authorized the Parish President to execute a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with LADOTD for the LA 44 at Causey Road/Merritt Evans Road turn lane project. All votes were unanimous.
Pending council action
The Aug. 20 council meeting will consider a $2,867,362.50 bid from Procivil, LLC for widening Parker Road (PR 929 to Fountainbleau Road). The agenda also includes a $14,000 one-time payment to the Registrar of Voters Association for a 2027 seminar, a $263,087.63 renewal of professional liability insurance for Parish Health Services, and a public hearing to acquire 1.270 acres in Section 28, T11S, R14E for $20,000 plus closing costs. A resolution to establish a 25 mph speed limit on Carrie Lane is also listed.
