Brown County boards meet on zoning, school resource officer; decisions pending
Brown County's Area Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Board of Commissioners all met in the past two weeks, but minutes from those meetings have not yet been published, so no decisions are available. The agendas included several items of note, including a school resource officer agreement and a funding request from Helmsburg RSD.
Area Plan Commission (July 28)
The APC discussed updates to its fee schedule and a memorandum of agreement with the Board of Commissioners to facilitate an amendment to the Brown County Comprehensive Plan. No action has been reported.
Board of Zoning Appeals (July 29)
The BZA considered six variance and special exception requests, including setback variances for properties on Honey Locust Drive, State Road 135 South, and Webber Hill Road, an accessory dwelling unit requirement variance for Lawson Ridge Road, and tourist home special exception and site plan amendment requests for Three Story Hill Road and Crooked Creek Road. Outcomes are pending.
Board of Commissioners (August 5)
The commissioners considered a memorandum of agreement for a School Resource Officer and a funding request from Helmsburg RSD to add new customers. Also on the agenda were engineering estimates for pedestrian and vehicular crossings at Indian Hill, and items scheduled for the August 19 meeting, including an amendment to the Music Center administrative agreement, a contract for a Human Resource Management System, and a software system for online ordinance inventory. Updates on the County Comprehensive Plan and Pumpkin Ridge Road upgrades were also listed.
