Hancock County Commissioners approve landfill gas system, annexation, and series of facility contracts
Hancock County Commissioners approved a $244,638 landfill gas collection system contract and the annexation of 80.937 acres in Allen Township to the City of Findlay during their July 23 regular meeting, part of a busy two weeks of infrastructure spending and fund appropriations.
Landfill gas system and Allen Township annexation (July 23)
The Board voted 2-0 to approve a $244,638 contract with Advance One Development, LLC for a landfill gas collection system — the largest single contract approved across the three meetings. Commissioners also voted 2-0 to annex 80.937 acres in Allen Township to the City of Findlay.
Several building maintenance contracts passed 2-0 at the same meeting:
- $84,100 contract with Johnson Controls Fire Protection, LP for a fire alarm system at 401 Olive Street
- $44,943.32 contract with Wentling Electrical Service, LLC for electrical work at 401 Olive Street
- $11,500 repair for an underground storage tank at the Jail

- $1,063.96 for maintenance truck tires
Commissioners also approved a $2,000 per employee AI training agreement with AI for All LLC (2-0).
Facility contracts and fund appropriations (July 28)
On July 28, the Board approved four maintenance contracts, all by 3-0 votes:
- $2,000 contract with OTC Industrial Technologies for Western Meadows ditch maintenance
- $11,500 contract with Corepretek Inc. for Sheriff's office storage tank cathodic protection
- $4,299.83 contract with Stumps Fire Protection & Safety Equipment Company for sprinkler systems
- $2,100 contract with Bowers Heating & Cooling, Inc. for Job and Family Services HVAC maintenance
Commissioners also appropriated funds to three county accounts, each by 3-0:
- $125,069.00 to ADAMHS Fund #2013
- $25,225.00 to CASA/GAL Fund #2246
- $60,000.00 to General Fund #1001 Commissioner
The Board directed the Prosecutor's office to prepare a resolution approving the Huffman Annexation (3-0). No further detail on the Huffman Annexation was included in the minutes.
