County Commissioners approve warrants, ambulance payroll, and appointments
On July 6, the Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a series of demand warrants and payroll expenses. The board approved $3,500.00 to Pioneer Plumbing and Drain for repairs, $190.00 for Drake University deputy travel, and $642.99 for fuel purchases.
For the Weiser Ambulance District, commissioners approved two payroll expense warrants totaling $46,705.11 — $22,508.76 and $24,196.35 — plus $16,340.48 in general expenses. The board also re-appointed Vicky Purdy to the Southwest District Health Board and approved a Certificate of Residency for Kenzi Webb. Minutes from June 22, 2026 were approved as written.
Fair Board set to act on bids, contracts, and dumpster service
The Washington County Fair Board scheduled a July 8 regular meeting with several action items: building addition bids, fair week contracts, a night watchman contract, and an agreement with Hardin Sanitation for fair dumpsters — three large roll-away units (two 30-yard and one 20-yard). The agenda also included an executive session and updates from the treasurer, fair manager, and maintenance. Weed Advisory Board to act on 2027 projects and calendar
On July 14, the Washington County Weed Advisory Board was scheduled to approve minutes and claims and take action on the 2027 Neighborhood Project Application and the 2027 Noxious Weed Calendar, including determining print numbers and format. Project reports were listed from Valley View, Middle Valley Waterways, and Lower Pine, among others.
