Comanche County commissioners approve jail roof repairs, detention advisory board; bids open this week for Armstrong Creek project

Juvenile Detention Center roof repairs approved
On July 6, the Board of Commissioners approved a roof repair plan for the Comanche County Regional Juvenile Detention Center on a 3-0 vote. The board approved June 29 meeting minutes 3-0 and handled several consent agenda items: juvenile detention service contracts with six counties, a flower bed maintenance agreement for the Health Department, a bridge reconstruction inter-governmental agreement with Comanche Nation, and disposal of a postage machine, a John Deere tractor, and an Asus computer. Various purchase orders and appropriation requests were approved 3-0.
Facilities Authority creates detention advisory board
Also on July 6, the Comanche County Facilities Authority approved a resolution establishing the Comanche County Detention Center Advisory Board, intended to coordinate community input on jail feasibility. The resolution passed 3-0, as did appointments to the advisory board. The Authority approved an inmate housing agreement with Washita County through June 2027 on a 3-0 vote.
