Planning Commission approves April minutes; county boards set busy August agenda
The Delta County Planning Commission approved minutes from its April 15, 2026, meeting on a 5-0 vote at its July 29 session, the only local government body with official minutes published in the past two weeks. Shawn Gardner led a work session on revisions to the Land Use Code. No other substantive decisions were made.
Board of County Commissioners — July 21
The Board of County Commissioners met July 21 to discuss the Lockhart Bridge Alternative Analysis and consider two liquor license renewals for Sage View Ranch LLC and Longhorns and Lace LLC. The agenda also included an award of the Request for Quote for 2026 Fair Auctioneer Services, dedication of 0.43 acres of right-of-way for Davis Road (PLN26-021), and assignment of the Blake Field Hangar 192 lease from Air Arizona, LLC to V&S Holdings, LLC. A Semi Annual Report from the County Treasurer and a review of Human Services financials were also scheduled. Minutes have not yet been published, so outcomes of these items are not yet confirmed.
Board of Health — July 21
The Delta County Board of Health was scheduled to act on May and June financials, a Chemical Toilet Policy, an Employee Immunization Policy, and a Fee Schedule. The board also planned to ratify several grants: Wise Women, VFC, Retail Food, Air Quality, and PHEP. Minutes have not yet been published.
Commissioners — July 28
The commissioners held a special meeting July 28 for an executive session to receive legal advice regarding the Ginter Grove Public Improvement District. No public decisions were scheduled. Minutes have not yet been published.
Coming up — August 4
The Board of County Commissioners has two meetings scheduled for August 4, 2026.
The first includes approval of minutes from the July 21 and July 28 meetings, a permanent liquor license for Bramble Winery at 32688 Highway 92, Hotchkiss, and temporary liquor sales for Sauvage Spectrum LLC at Honey Rock Landing Harvest Celebrations, 2444 Dominguez Canyon Road, Delta — rescheduled to Sept. 19 and Oct. 15, 2026. The Board of Equalization will consider tax appeal decisions for Lannie E. Yeager and Meadow Brook Boulevard LLC. The board will also consider accepting a 2.03-acre road right-of-way dedication for Fire Mountain Road. Public comments and reports on jail and road conditions are scheduled.
The second August 4 meeting focuses on the Ginters Grove Public Improvement District, including formation of a work group, introduction and adoption of a resolution for the district, an operations and maintenance update, and a financial report.
