Edgerton council weighs sewer rate hike, $771k street payment
All four Edgerton government meetings held in the past two weeks were agenda-only, with minutes not yet published. The most consequential items on the table include a proposed 3% sewer rate increase, a $771,423.41 payment for the Washington Street project, and a grant for Teen Center window replacements. No final votes have been recorded.
Common Council (Aug. 17)
The council will consider a 3% sewer utility rate increase, the first since 2021. It will also take a second reading of Ordinance 26-13, which would amend off-street parking standards (Chapter 450, Section 450-37).
Other items include:
- An exterior grant up to $1,710 for window replacement at 204 W Fulton St (Teen Center)
- A subordination agreement for Rinehart Taxidermy
- A closed session to discuss an addendum to the Child High School development agreement
Utilities Commission (Aug. 10)
The commission will consider Pay Request #1 for R. T. Fox Contractors in the amount of $771,423.41 for the Washington Street Utility and Street Improvements Project. Also on the agenda:
- Change Order #1 for LC United Painting, Inc. for the Westside Water Tower Restoration and Painting Project
- A leak credit policy
- 2026 water and sewer forecasts
- Vouchers payable totaling $664,082.68
Redevelopment Authority (Aug. 17)
The RDA will consider an exterior grant for the Edgerton Teen Center at 204 W Fulton St to replace eight upper-story windows. The quote is $4,275, with a maximum grant of $1,710. The board will also enter closed session to discuss an addendum to the Child High School development agreement, and will elect a Chair and Vice Chair.
Finance Committee (Aug. 17)
The committee will consider a loan subordination request for Rinehart Taxidermy, an amendment to the Edgerton Night Market Event Packet, and approve bills and payroll vouchers. It will also approve minutes from the Aug. 3, 2026 meeting.
