Millersburg meetings: Development Code updates, drone show planning, and council zoning hearings on the agenda
Millersburg's recent government meetings covered a wide range of topics, from a major Development Code update to event planning and potential charter changes. Planning Commission — July 7
The Planning Commission was scheduled to hold a public hearing on Development Code amendment DC 26-02, which proposes 23 changes to city code. The proposed changes touch on middle housing land divisions, residential treatment facilities, psychiatric hospitals, child care, preschools in churches, chicken rules, food truck regulations in the CO Zone, fence signs, temporary signs, and other clarifications including outdoor storage screening, secondary driveways, guest houses, and nonconforming additions. The commission was also set to consider approving the May 5, 2026 meeting minutes and receive a planning update.
Events Planning Committee — July 9
The Events Planning Committee reviewed assignments for a July 24 drone show and received updates on the August 1 car show. Drone show assignments included bounce houses, face painting, piñatas, a drone show at dusk, and popcorn at 8:30 p.m. The car show update covered donations, food trucks, and vendor tables, with listed vendors including Pomps, Wraps, Andy's Auto Detailing, Cake pops, and Mandy's Cakes. The committee also discussed plans for a Trunk or Treat on October 31 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., a December 4 parade, and a Christmas lighting contest scheduled for December 13–18 with winners announced December 19.
City Council — July 14
The City Council had a public hearing scheduled on a Development Code text amendment under Ordinance 224-26. The council was also set to consider revisions to construction trailer regulations under Ordinance 227-26, parking on Zuhlke and Castillo streets, and a charter change to elect the mayor. Approval of February and June 2026 City Council minutes was also on the agenda, along with reports from local law enforcement and fire departments.
The council was also scheduled to hold an executive session on July 14 for deliberations with designated persons to negotiate real property transactions, under ORS 192.660(2)(e). Executive sessions are closed to the public under Oregon law.
Coming up
Parks Commission — July 21. The commission will approve the January 20, 2026 meeting minutes and receive updates on completed, in-progress, and FY 26/27 planned park projects. Commissioners will also discuss future park projects and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Conser Linear Park.
