Okmulgee boards set July 21 agenda: $4M wastewater loan, $277,352 ambulance purchase among items
Okmulgee's elected and appointed boards convened July 21, 2026, with agendas covering major purchases, land transfers, and service contracts. City Council
The Okmulgee City Council agenda listed several funding and contract items, the largest being a $277,352 ambulance purchase by the Emergency Medical Service-A Trust, financed at 6% interest over 72 months. Other scheduled items included:
- Lease of the Senior Nutrition Center at 1021 North Seminole for $150 per month (FY 26/27).
- A $5,000 agreement with the Okmulgee Cemetery Association.
- A $15,000 public transportation services agreement with K!BOIS Community Action Foundation.
- A $35,000 funding request for the Okmulgee County YMCA.
The council was also set to address a rezoning application, a special-use request for multi-family housing, and the transfer of several city parcels to the Economic Development Authority.
Okmulgee Municipal Authority
The Municipal Authority agenda included the largest dollar item of the day: authorization of a $4,000,000 Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan application for wastewater system improvements. Trustees were also scheduled to act on:
- A $62,225.00 water line installation on 23% Street.
- A $380,200.00 purchase of a Peterbilt sanitation truck.
- A waiver of competitive bidding for water treatment chemicals.
- An amendment to the FY 2026-2027 budget for wastewater plant adjustments.
Okmulgee Economic Development Authority
The Economic Development Authority was scheduled to vote on a $52,000 contract with the Okmulgee Area Development Corporation to fund an Economic Development Director for fiscal year 2026-27. Trustees also had before them a proposal to transfer multiple city lots to the Deep Fork Community Action Foundation via quit-claim deed, including properties at 824 West 7", 316 North Oklahoma, 812 West 10", 711 South Morton, 1106 West 12", 410 East 24", 1002 South Osage, 800 East 12", and 711 East 13".
An Economic Development Agreement with the Deep Fork Foundation to develop one- and two-bedroom low- to moderate-income housing using federal funds was also on the agenda, along with approval of the attached claims list.
City of Okmulgee Community Trust
The Community Trust agenda was limited to routine business: approval of the June 9, 2026 special session minutes, approval of the June 16, 2026 regular session minutes, and authorization of payment for claims. No new business items were listed.
