Oswego council weighs $145,232 wastewater bid, $148,759 in public safety budget amendments
Oswego's Common Council is set to act on a $145,232 bid for wastewater treatment equipment and $148,759 in budget amendments for police and fire department supplies, according to the council's July 13 agenda. The council agenda lists authorization of a $145,232 bid from Guardian Environmental Products for rotary scum skimmer equipment at the Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant. Public safety budget amendments
Two budget amendments totaling $148,759 are on the July 13 council agenda:
- $59,669 to the Police Department for materials and supplies, funded from a Law Enforcement Technology Grant.
- $88,090 to the Fire Department for mobile computer-aided dispatch units.
Both items originated at the July 6 Administrative Services Committee meeting.
Demolition at 410 West First Street
The council agenda includes authorization to demolish a former car dealership at 410 West First Street. The Administrative Services Committee had discussed the demolition of the former Shapiro building on July 6. The council agenda describes the site as a former car dealership at that address.
Sidewalk, events, and bench approved by Physical Services Committee
The Physical Services Committee, meeting July 6, unanimously approved several items that will be forwarded to the full council:
- Extension of the sidewalk on West Bridge Street to Cayuga Street.
- An amended schedule for the Summer Concert Series.
- Use-of-public-space requests for a 1976 class reunion, an Oswego County Breastfeeding Coalition event, Mat Pilates/Yoga Sculpt classes in parks, and a West Third Street Block Party.
- A bench donation in memory of Eddie Myers.
The committee tabled a request to place Help Me Grow signage pending clarification. All votes were unanimous.
Oswego County Sheriff fuel request
The Administrative Services Committee agenda included a request for the Oswego County Sheriff to purchase fuel at cost for a Marine Vessel. No minutes are available for that meeting.
