Prescott Valley Library Board elects new officers; Planning and Building boards hold public hearings
The Prescott Valley Library Board of Trustees elected new officers and approved agenda revisions at its July 7 meeting, the only local board with published minutes from the past two weeks. The Planning and Zoning Commission and the Building Board of Appeals each held public hearings on July 13 and July 15, respectively, but minutes for those meetings have not yet been published.
Library Board of Trustees — July 7
The board elected its officers for the upcoming term, naming Karen Rauls as President, Debbie O'Brien as Vice President, and Jim Lawson as Secretary. Each election was approved by the board.
Members also unanimously approved the amended meeting agenda and unanimously approved the minutes of the May 5, 2026, meeting as corrected.
A discussion of bylaw revisions was tabled until the board's August 4 meeting.
Planning and Zoning Commission — July 13
The commission held a public hearing on the Draft Three-Year Strategic Long-Range Planning Initiatives Plan, referred to as the SLRPIP. Development Services Director Stacey Bristow presented the item.
According to the agenda, the hearing was discussion only — no votes or action items were scheduled. The commission was also set to approve minutes from its June 8 regular meeting and hear public comment on other matters.

Building Board of Appeals — July 15
The board scheduled a public hearing to review and potentially adopt a package of updated building codes, including:
- 2024 International Building, Residential, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fuel Gas, Property Maintenance, and Swimming Pool and Spa Codes
- 2023 National Electrical Code
- 2012 International Energy Conservation Code
The board was also scheduled to adopt the Town of Prescott Valley Administrative Code, elect officers for the upcoming term, and approve regular meeting minutes from December 14, 2022.
