Sagaponack weighs 43.5-acre Daniels Lane subdivision; trustees act on appointments and bills
Sagaponack officials have a busy July, with the Board of Trustees scheduling a public hearing on a proposed subdivision of more than 43 acres on Daniels Lane, the Zoning Board set to decide three variance applications, and the village filling key officer positions. All meetings listed below are reflected in agendas only; minutes have not yet been published, so final outcomes are not yet confirmed.
Board of Trustees — July 6
The Board of Trustees swore in the newly elected mayor and trustees, then voted on the mayor's appointment of a Deputy Mayor. The board also appointed or ratified appointments to several village positions, including Village Attorney Egan & Golden LLP for a one-year term, a Clerk-Treasurer, Record Management Officer, Registrar of Vital Statistics, deputy clerks, zoning board members, historic preservation board members, and tree committee members.
Additional resolutions designated Southampton Press as the official village newspaper, Satty Levine & Ciacco CPAs as external auditors, and DIME, State Farm, and MBIA as the village's bank and depositories. The board also designated the state secretary of state as the village's agent for service of notices and adopted investment and procurement policies.
Zoning Board of Appeals — July 10
The Zoning Board of Appeals is scheduled to render decisions on three area variance applications and review one amended application. The board also planned to vote to approve minutes from its June 12, 2026 meeting.
The agenda lists the following items:
- Decision on a driveway width variance for Sagaponack Realty LLC at 451 Daniels Lane.
- Decision on pool and patio setback variances for 518 Bridge Lane LLC at 518 Bridge Lane.
- Decision on dwelling and accessory structure size variances for Regine Starr at 28 Hildreth Lane.
- Review of an amended application for Topping Farm LP at 60 Daniels Lane regarding parking, setbacks, and a 24,115 sq. ft. build out.
Because minutes are not yet published, the results of these decisions are not confirmed.
Board of Trustees — July 15
The Board of Trustees scheduled a public hearing on a subdivision application by Sagaponack Realty LLC to subdivide 43.507 acres at 451 Daniels Lane into four residential lots and an agricultural reserve.
The agenda also includes a proposed 90-day extension for the final plat filing for Meadowmere at 3491 Montauk Highway.
Trustees are scheduled to consider assembly permits for two events at 730 Sagg Main Street: Taste of Sagaponack on August 22 and Outstanding in The Field on September 9.
A resolution on the agenda would approve bills totaling $58,982.94 from the General Fund, $8,810.00 from the Tree Fund, and $12,573.75 from the Capital Highway Fund.
Another resolution would change Patricia Remkus' status from full time to part time.
