City Council fills vacant seat

Council sets 4% COLA for non-represented staff
At its July 8 meeting, the council adopted Resolution No. 1615, setting a 4% cost-of-living adjustment for non-represented employee positions for fiscal year 2026-27 (6-0). The council approved the consent agenda as amended (6-0) and approved temporary use licenses for Timber's Restaurant and Lounge for two city events — the annual Main Street Car Show and Art Oysters and Brews (6-0). The Merit Mix Report item was removed from the Issue Tracker by unanimous agreement. A correction to the June 17, 2026 minutes remark attribution was noted, with no vote recorded.
Urban Renewal Agency approves Dairy Queen loan, accepts audit
On July 15, the Urban Renewal Agency board unanimously approved a $10,000 forgivable loan to the Toledo Dairy Queen for exterior building improvements. The board also unanimously adopted Resolution URA-11, formally accepting the FY 2024-2025 financial audit.
The Curry Marine rehabilitation application was withdrawn, and no action was taken on it. The board discussed the need for stronger reporting mechanisms but made no decision. Members agreed to schedule a dedicated URA work session in August to address program reporting and eligibility issues.
Planning Commission meeting canceled
The Toledo Planning Commission regular meeting scheduled for July 8, 2026 was canceled. No agenda items were discussed or decided. The next regular meeting is set for August 12, 2026.
