North Palm Beach council cancels August meetings, schedules special session
North Palm Beach's Village Council has canceled its regular meetings scheduled for Aug. 13 and Aug. 27, and will instead hold a special meeting on Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The cancellations were the only formal decisions made in the past two weeks; other boards met for discussion and public hearings.
Village Council
The Village Council canceled both of its regular August meetings. A special council meeting is now scheduled for Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Village Hall. No agenda items have been published for that special meeting.
Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board
The Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board held a public hearing on Aug. 4 for two site plan requests. The first would add watercraft sales to the marina at 631 Northlake Boulevard, with landscaping, parking, and signage improvements. Staff recommends approval for this item. The second request would amend the approved mixed-use project at 200 Yacht Club Drive, at the southeast corner of Yacht Club Drive and U.S. Highway 1. The board also approved minutes from its July 7 meeting and heard public comment on non-agenda items. No votes were recorded in the agenda summary.
Pension boards
Two pension boards met in early August. The General Employees Pension Board reviewed quarterly investment performance from Sterling Capital Management, an attorney report on board composition and 2027 meeting dates, and an administrator report on a DOL cybersecurity independent review. It also approved expenses for warrants dated Aug. 4, 2026, and discussed an election update and signature authorization.
The Police and Fire Pension Board met Aug. 11 to handle routine business, including approving minutes from May 12, 2026, disbursements, and financial statements. The board also reviewed an experience study, heard investment manager and monitor reports, discussed an international equity search, and considered the administrative budget for 2026-2027. A fiduciary liability insurance review was also on the agenda.
Environmental and recreation committees
The Environmental Committee met Aug. 3 for a discussion-only agenda. Topics included updates on the community garden, golf course pesticides, an oyster project, tree preservation permits, residential landscape code, and several other items. No votes or dollar amounts were listed.
The Recreation Advisory Board met Aug. 11 and discussed the boat storage waitlist at Anchorage Park, feedback on Parks and Rec Month, and a director's report on projects and programs. The board approved minutes from July 14, 2026.

The Business Advisory Board meeting scheduled for Aug. 18 has been canceled and rescheduled to Sept. 15. The Village Council's special meeting is set for Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. No other meetings are currently listed for the next two weeks.
