Wadena County boards face full agendas; no decisions yet published
Wadena County officials have a busy stretch of meetings ahead, with the City Council set to consider a $2.5 million street repair contract and the County Board to review its 2027 budget. Minutes from recent meetings have not yet been published, so no official decisions have been reported as of this writing.
City Council (Aug. 10)
The City Council agenda includes a public hearing on rezoning 123 Elm Street from residential to commercial, a vote on a $2.5 million contract with ABC Construction for street repairs on Main Street and Oak Avenue, and a proposed ordinance to increase park facility rental fees by 10%. The council will also discuss the police department budget for the next fiscal year. All items are listed as agenda items; no minutes have been released.
County Board – Aug. 11
At its regular meeting, the Wadena County Board of Commissioners will consider consent agenda items including approval of auditor and human services warrants for Aug. 11, 2026, and an employment update. The board will hear presentations from the Economic Development Alliance and about the BAF Friendly Rider program. It will also consider Resolution 26-29 for TZD (Toward Zero Deaths) funds, a CA BAF CIP/Safety Grant, and opioid committee recommendations that include storage cabinets for Menahga, Sebeka, and Verndale, plus a Townsqure Media harm reduction website.
County Road Tour – Aug. 12
The board will join the Highway Department and County Engineer Anthony Maule for a road tour, departing from the Highway Department at 221 Harry Rich Drive. The agenda states no official actions or votes will be taken during the event.
County Board – Aug. 18
The board’s regular meeting includes consent agenda items such as auditor and human services warrants for Aug. 18, 2026, and an employee update. Regular agenda items include human services statistical reports, a 2026 Paycom Certificate Management agreement, storage cabinets for Advocates 4 Health (for Menahga, Sebeka, Verndale), a Townsquare Media harm reduction/treatment/recovery website, a generator and cooling project, and June hail damage claims. The board will also consider a safety grant, an event center item, and a Widseth bill. A citizen comment period and reports from the county administrator and commissioners are scheduled.
