West Chester committees weigh public safety tax, kratom ban, and data center zoning

That committee also planned to discuss an Unruly Social Gathering Ordinance addressing mass gatherings in residential areas, approve a Special Event Permit for the Mount Carmel Block Party on E. Miner Street between Bolmar and Poplar on July 25, 2026, and vote on a Domestic Violence Center of Chester County request to hang ribbons along Church and High Streets near the WCU campus.

Infrastructure and contracts

The Borough Council agenda included a motion to approve an elevator repair purchase order to Code Elevator for $15,850 to fix counterweight sheaves at the Chestnut Street Garage.
