The Amherst Town Board is scheduled to approve five bond resolutions totaling $1.615 million for infrastructure and facility improvements. CHAIR REPORT: Sharon Seamans, Debbie Doucette
1. An annual report has been completed and ready to be sent to the town board for presentation on July 27. We
would like to use slides when presenting our activities.
2. The 250th “Paint Amherst Red, White, and Blue” contest has been tabled until next February. More time is
needed to set up the process for the contest. Perhaps the Arts & Culture Board will be able to have its own
Facebook page next year.
3. For future Artstart events we will attempt to count the number and type of interactions with adults.
4. Four tent weights were received at no charge. Our lawn arrows are being replaced at no charge.
5. We have 24 lawn signs from the 2025 kite day that can be used to advertise other events we are doing.
6. Our extra traffic box postcards with a black background cannot be found. Sharon Seamans will look at the town
hall.

The June 10, 2026 meeting of the Amherst Traffic Safety Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by
Vice Chair Cara Biddlecom. Vice Chair Biddlecom reviewed the minutes from the May 6, 2026 meeting
and asked whether there were any changes or corrections. Hearing none, a motion was made by Vice
Chair Biddlecom, second by Kevin Cantwell, to approve the minutes as written. Approved, 6-0.
Members in attendance were Vice Chair Cara Biddlecom, Dan Rider, Kevin Cantwell, Patricia Dunne,
Nick Alterio, and Joseph Lojacono. Departmental liaisons in attendance included William Prenevau of
the Building Department, Al Spoth of the Highway Department, and Scott Marshall of the Planning
Department. Chris Schregel, Traffic Safety Coordinator/Engineering Liaison and Councilmember
Michael Szukala, Town Board Liaison to the Amherst Traffic Safety Board, were also in attendance.
