Assessor Voigt gave an overview of the process to make sure everyone has a
fair and equitable market value for taxes payable 2027. The findings must be
sustained by facts and then would be forwarded to the county in June for
consideration. Cannot reduce the overall estimated market value for the
jurisdiction by more than 1%, so there can be no blanket reduction across the
board. Dassel City came in at 99%, so no residential increases were made.
Residential land schedule covers acreage sites and unplatted land. Building site
value: $64,400. Second and third acre: $9,600, fourth through tenth acre:
$6,800. Tillable land values throughout the county: Dassel Township had no
adjustment. Rural vacant land (woods, water, and waste) increased by 25%
county-wide. Five-year sales study county-wide for commercial properties.
Must be within 90 to 105% of sales. Litchfield and Dassel City commercial

Dave Johnson, 130 Linart Ave. W. questioned the Public Works Department cleaning
the bike trail outside city limits. Johnson stated he doesn't see that there's enough
people out there on the trail that far out through the winter. Council agreed to follow up
with Kyle Moy, Public Works Director and suggest cleaning should stop at city limits.
