City Council

The City Council will discuss construction agreements for Old Plantersville Road and ground leases for a communications tower on Liberty Street. The body is also reviewing special use permits for a financial institution and a children's play business.

The City Council voted to table a proposed ground lease with Communications Tower Group I LLC for a cell tower on city-owned property at 14751 Liberty Street until the July 28, 2026 meeting, after concerns about access, proximity to homes, and visual impact. A related ground lease item (Item 13) was not acted on and will return with the tower matter. The council also approved consent items, a wayfinding sign agreement, a road construction agreement, a final plat, a variance, and two warranty period endings.

• Approved authorizing the Mayor to sign an agreement for placement of wayfinding signs in the Lone Star Parkway right-of-way.

• Approved the Final Plat for Lone Star Hills Section 1, a 90-lot subdivision with $430,000 in impact fees paid.
• Approved a variance for the Church of Montgomery regarding vegetative setback visual barriers.
• Approved ending warranty periods and releasing maintenance bonds for the MISD and Old Plantersville waterline extension projects.
