Maybe is on to present the pledge. Oh, excellent. Thank you. To. I'm going to go to my office. Yeah. Go ahead. We'll keep working. Okay. So, MISS, maybe if you don't mind coming off mute and leading us through the Pledge of Allegiance, we would be deeply honored. Okay. I pledge allegiance to the flag. Of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. One nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. All. Thank you. Anything interesting you want to share going on in your neck of the woods? Well, I've only been in my neck of the woods for the last month. I work in procurement in the d and c division. Right. Well, the woods will just continue to get more and more complex. Lesher. So thank you. We appreciate you coming on and doing this for us. And welcome. Thanks. The next item on our agenda is the land acknowledgment statement that will be read by Supervisor Scott. Thank you, Chair Allen. On behalf of Pima County residents, we honor the tribal nations who have served as caretakers of this land from time immemorial and respectfully acknowledge the ancestral homelands of the Tohono o'odham Nation and the multi millennial presence of the Pascua Yaqui tribe within Pima County. Consistent with Pima County's commitment to diversity and inclusion, we strive toward building equal partner relationships with Arizona's tribal nations. Thank you. Item number four on the agenda is agenda adjustments. So I will look to Clerk Manriquez to see if there …

Approaching difficult situations with patience and professionalism. Transferring mistakes into opportunities for growth. Jennifer, thank you for all you do. Thank you. And you hired her, right. So that's like Gail's like excited. All right Devin you're next. Devin Robles from our library. Your system. All right libraries bringing it today guys. Come on. Devin always keeps both library staff and library customers in mind. When the library's largest book vendor went out of business, Devin was on hand to support the technical services team and taking on new processes to get books and other materials into the hands of patrons. By working closely with the counties, its deployment team, Devin's Group, was able to successfully process more than 27,000 items in the span of five months, and Devin's just a smiley face every time I see him. He's just a wonderful guy. Devin, thank you for everything you do. Appreciate you. Thank you. All right. Good following suit. Nicole. Nicole Kasebier is with our regional Flood Control District department. So in addition to being a gem, Nicole gets the award for the best last name k spear like that. So she's probably been hearing that all her life. I, I suspect, but Nicole is a landscape architect with our regional flood control district, and she gets to design and construct storm water parks. And so that's taking areas that have urban drainage and building improvements, right, to capture water, alleviate flooding, but also provide an amenity in the …

Chair. Allen. Supervisor. Kino. Thank you to the director for the update and I wanted to, of course, celebrate the fact that over 186,000 Pima County residents utilized their right to vote in the JULY 21st primary elections, about a 28.9% turnout. As we prepare for the NOVEMBER election, I want to extend a huge thanks to all of our election workers, especially those who were there with the 20,000 or so of our neighbors that voted in person on the day of the election. This takes lots of work and lots of commitment, lots of due diligence, and I have nothing but full confidence in all of our elections and reporters team for doing their due diligence to ensure that we have a safe and secure election. We look forward to discussing such subjects. At the AUGUST 25th Regular Board of Supervisors meeting, and we will be placing an agenda item regarding such. On the AUGUST 25th agenda. If our office …

that for some time, and I I'm actually it's changed a bit, but I know actually, Carmine, when you were still working with the organization, we were looking at revisiting the policy or bringing back recommendations. What's the timeline for that? Might you. So, MADAM Chair, members of the board. County Administrator. This topic is one that I had had a conversation or several with Director Pereira about. So coming out of the adoption of the parks master plan, the firm that assisted us with doing that also has helped communities with this very issue. And we've asked them to help collect a compendium of what other communities are doing around this topic. And so it's something that we've started gathering inputs on and then can come back to this board with some recommendations on. Thank you. Thank you, MADAM Chair and Director Deputy Debonis, I have two more questions, and I know Chair Allen, the supervisor Christy, is wanting to also ask after I ask my questions. And related to the e-bikes. It's my understanding as well that we're waiting on some engagement from the County a …

Anything happening over at Grants Management& Innovation you'd like to? Quite a bit. Yes. So we just reviewed some of our grants and contracts that have been processed. We are at 295 grants since JULY 1st of last year. So we're really excited to see the momentum there. We also had a team go to the National Grants Management Association conference in Washington, D.C. And a number of us are looking at getting our certified grants manager specialist certifications as well later this year. So lots of momentum in terms of growing and learning. And then also making sure too, that we're doing the best to review these agreements in a timely manner. Thank you. Thank you. I feel like I should also just acknowledge like, welcome to our first ever 5 P.M. Board of Supervisors meeting. We also had our first ever study session this morning. I'm still getti …

Just. Okay. Test test 123. All right. We are going to call the meeting to order. Our very first ever study session for the Board of Supervisors. And I think that today. Given all the changes, it is going to be as awkward as a middle school dance. So just please bear. Bear with us as we go through lots of adjustments and shifting and trying to make it work. So we'll start out with roll call. Supervisor Connell. Yes, supervisor Christy here. Supervisor Hines present supervisor Scott here. Chair Allen here. Let the record show all board members are present. Okay. The second and third item on the study session agenda is the Pledge of Allegiance and the land acknowledgment statement. I am we have an item on the regular meeting agenda to waive those permanently for the study session, not for the regular meeting. They will be on the regular meeting agenda. So we'll consider that at that meeting. So I will. Motion to vote on this. So I'm going to waive the the pledge and the land acknowledgment for this particular meeting. But then like I said, it'll be formalized in the regular agenda. Okay. All right. Do we have agenda adjustments? Chair Allen, board members not for the study session. My understanding is that we are going to go into executive session first and. Fcdac. Well, if if if family and friends are here, then let's let's go for it. All right. Then we will start out with a recognition. This is for the recognition of the retirement of Stephen King, permit regulatory compliance …
