City Council

The City Council will hold public hearings and vote on ordinances regarding multi-unit housing definitions and economic policies. The body will also consider resolutions for a watershed acquisition loan and various festival use applications.

• Ordinance No. 2026-02: Amending Zoning Ordinance Definition of Multi-Unit Housing
• Resolution No. 2026-03: Clean Water State Revolving Fund Loan for Lower Jetty Creek Watershed Acquisition
• Resolution No. 2026-04: Approving Kite and Arts & Crafts Festivals; denying Thursday Markets
• Resolution No. 2026-07: Amendments to City Manager base rate compensation

The council approved the consent agenda items, including meeting minutes and financial reports, by a 4‑0 vote. Ordinance 2026‑01 amending the comprehensive plan and Ordinance 2026‑02 amending the zoning definition of multi‑unit housing were each read, second‑read, and adopted unanimously. Council members elected Penny Cheek as Council President for 2026 with a 4‑0 vote. The council also approved three resolutions concerning audit actions, the enterprise zone expansion and renaming, and a Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan for the Lower Jetty Creek watershed acquisition.
