The City Council of Prairie Village, Kansas, met in regular session on Monday, October 5,
at 6:00 p.m. Mayor Mikkelson presided.
ROLL CALL
Roll was called by the city clerk with the following councilmembers in attendance: Cole
Robinson, Terry O’Toole, Inga Selders, Ron Nelson, Andy Logan, Shelby Bartelt, Nathan
Vallette, Tyler Agniel, Betsy Lawrence, Ian Graves and Jim Sellers. Staff present: Eric

JazzFest Committee reviews 2026 event costs and outcomes

postponement of the third act, Stephen Martin Quartet, subsequent heavy rain and the departure of
most attendees caused the Committee to recommend that the event be halted at approximately 6:45
pm. Net entry gate receipts totaled $3,305.50. Estimated costs to produce JazzFest 2026 are $51,500.
Final event costs are pending receipt of several final invoices.
Mike Polich communicated that he would be stepping down from the Committee but was happy to
continue to help during set up. Thank you, Mike for 15 years of service!
